Note: This is a sponsored post for SheSpeaks and DripDrop and I received a promotional item as a thank you for my time.
Wow! what a rough winter we have had! I cannot wait til we are able to open the windows and let some fresh, warm air, through the house!
Are you noticing a lot of static in your clothes? That is the dryness in the air of your home! In addition to the nuisance of those annoying shocks” here and there, little Henry and I, are actually prone to light nose-bleeding and suffer from frequent chapped lips!
It is SO important to keep hydrated even in the winter and it is SO easy for us to forget. Obviously, we aren’t sweating as much as Chuck (an avid runner) but I admit it, I have a tendency to over-indulge in my favorite espressos, and our little ones regularly reach for juice over water! As a family, we ALL have room for improvement.
Do you know some of the subtler signs of dehydration? According to the Mayo Clinic in mild/moderate cases it can be as simple as constipation, headaches and dry skin. In a child, that is SO easy to just chalk up to an off day! In fact, I would not consider any of those signs unusual with my boys, or myself!
My husband is probably the only one in the family drinking the recommended ratio of “1/2 of your body weight equal to the number in ounces of fluids” and really, that is for your body “at rest” so even hubby should consider his fitness regimen and adjust his intake!
When invited to try DripDrop Hydration Powder for this sponsored campaign, I was at first hesitant.
Add it to our water?
Well, off I went to my local Walgreens to find it. Located in children’s aisle. Check.
Next step- Find the pharmacist and ask about product. He points out, that DripDrop is actually BETTER than some commonly used sports drinks, Pediatric electrolyte and oral re-hydration beverages (find the brand comparison chart here). Check, check.
No artificial colors, flavors or preservatives…Check, check and check.
Now this mom HAS to know more…
- Well researched and developed, by Mayo Clinic trained physician. Used by leading hospitals and clinically proven. DripDrop contains a proven ratio of ingredients – including sodium, sugars and potassium –which absorb quickly and help you recover faster! FACT: DripDrop has been shown to hydrate 34% faster than water alone, and 20% faster than pediatric solutions and sports drinks. Outstanding.
- Supports a social mission to provide hydration in developing countries. Very important to my personal goals of supporting brands that support others.
- Beneficial for ALL ages, cold/flu season and for daily activities to keep hydrated~ PLUS lengthy shelf life = in home cost savings and convenience! Bonus!
Wait! This IS a product my family will TRY and USE! I am officially on board!
How does it taste?
Let me just say both times, I have made for hubby- they kids have fully consumed. This did not happen with the brand they are asked to drink when they are not well- so I am hopeful that staying hydrated during illness will BE SO MUCH easier! In fact due to shelf life, often our bottled pediatric drink ended up down the drain!
Side note: This could easily be frozen and served in a “popsicle” form, too, in times of fever!
So the verdict is in. They LOVE it! Especially the lemon flavor. Hayden said, “this isn’t Drip Drop, this is called Lemonade.”
I personally think it is familiar in taste to a well known low-calorie drink often served over ice, without naming the brand, I will only say it is a flavor you will enjoy!
It is crisp, light refreshing and perfect to have on hand- whether you have an athlete or child to keep hydrated!
