Please let me introduced Melissa from Home on Deranged! I am excited to announce we are starting a NEW monthly series called;
Starting this Thursday enjoy our “amusing” swapped experiences from the “other side” of raising girls vs. boys!
Without futher ado, here is a brief introduction of Melissa from Home on Deranged!
When did you start blogging?
I started blogging in 2011, but didn’t become full-time until February 2013. It’s been such a great creative outlet after having written every day for so many years, plus it’s a good way to find the humor in the daily escapades of our family that don’t always seem so funny at the time.
What is your family and career background?
Born and raised in Texas, now settled near Dallas. After years spent in newspapers and nonprofit management, I’m now mumbling my way through the mayhem of marriage to a husband 13 years my junior, and motherhood to rambunctious girls ages 1 and 2.
What is your favorite parts of blogging/ blog subjects?
I like to work on sorting through the mysteries of social media, dye jobs and the absurdity of life in a small town, with the emphasis on humor and love. This journey of motherhood has fueled my quirky sense of humor and off kilter perspective on life.
When not blogging, what do you like to do?
I love reading, writing and photography, and love watching The Voice and How I Met Your Mother, and I love action movies as well as romantic comedies. Plus a whole lot of Nick Jr.
Tell us about your family.
My husband, Thomas, is a freelance graphic designer, and quite the gamer, and he loves hanging out with our kids, Annie and Leelou, and our dogs, Midnight and Buddy.
Future blogging plans?
I’m really looking forward to attending Bloggy Boot Camp in Dallas in November, and maybe learning what I’m supposed to be doing on this blog.
