Okay, so where do kids hide this on/off switch they seem to have? If I try to wake my children they are like me, groggy and need about 10 minutes of recovery time before venturing on with the day. However, since I hardly ever purposely wake them. It is way more likely that this occurs….They spring to life with wild abandon like they have been switched to “on”. We are talking bouncing off couches, swinging from chairs, and demanding juice.
Is this just a mechanism I was born without, or do we outgrow? And then learn how treasured sleeping in and nap-time is? When I begin yawning, my 3 year-old will sometimes tell me, ” you need new batteries.”
Yeah, no kidding.
